Unfortunately for me, I tend to do my iron, copper, and steel smelting directly next to each other. So this won't work for me, but still a snazzy design. Reply reply. CornFedIABoy. •. Rotate 90deg and stack. Split the coal at each material and send one belt up the stack and the other to the next stack. The RCU uses some circuitry magic - basically it only allows the inserters to pick up if they have less than 1 of either speed module or blue circuit available, this stops them stacking several in the internal buffer of the assembler and gets more assemblers working faster to produce the RCU units. 6. Details. 8 Different ways to smelt Iron ore into steel. Some using electric furnace the rest stone, with a mix of medium and small poles. Built areas can be selected for inclusion in a blueprint. When a blueprint is placed, a ghost of the layout appears on the ground. This can be used as a guide for manually placing factory pieces, or, more commonly, handed over to construction robots …Enough for a belt and an inserter. That cuts the required number of furnaces almost in half because you can have more beacons per furnace. With 8 beacons per furnace it's 13 furnaces for a blue belt of iron or copper. Though it's necessary to use some tricks to always achieve reliable compression (for example sideloading) Durentis. Fast Inserter.

Smelter Question. Thank you! Try https://factoriocheatsheet.com. The cheatsheet has the answer you’re looking for. In case you can’t figure out where it is, I believe you’re looking at: 24 smelters for iron. 24 smelters for copper. 60 smelters for steel. Someone feel free to correct me if I have these wrong.

The current setup is designed to be as long as the iron/copper smelters so it's easy to tile and share beacons. It uses almost exactly a red belt of iron ore (26.3/s), and produces just over a lane of yellow belt of steel (7.5/s) blueprint. (note: just noticed one of the beacons misses the modules, this is corrected in the blueprint string.

Balancing before the smelters is pointless. If each smelting lane can handle half a belt, then all the incoming ore will be processed, and the plates are balanced before loading anyway. Those too are over-balanced; all you really need to guarantee is that each train wagon gets the same amount of ore.Re: Smelters/Plastic need for full belt of blue circuits? Changes: - Allowed smelters to be scaled in the same way that AssemblerUPSGrade scales assemblers. - Smelters and Centrifuges now have black borders around the models to make them easier to place. - !!!WARNING!!!The rate at which resources are produced is given by: Mining speed / Mining time = Production rate (in resource/sec) To calculate the time needed for one resource-item use this formula: Mining time / Mining speed = Seconds for one resource item. I just finished designing and testing this smelting array. It produces 1 fully compressed blue belt of iron or copper plates.

I wanted to keep it as compact as possible. It's a slight variation of the one-belt balancer in the wiki. I tried fitting it in the 42x13 tile space but had to add an extra tile column (43x13) to fit it. This balancer balances the sides of the belt. It ensures that the iron source is being pulled from evenly.

This guide will cover the process of obtaining Iron Ingots and Steel Ingots from Iron Ore. There are three tiers of smelting for iron. The first tier has a 1:1 input to output ratio, so it will not be covered by this guide. The second tier multiplies input by 1.5, and the third tier multiplies input by 2.

That way the iron smelter on the 'left' gains an extra beacon. Smelters on the right are already covered by 6 beacons. Also 4 blue belts output is overkill, this won't do more than 1.5 belts from 5 belts of ore.Re: Smelting setup. by ssilk » Thu Jan 16, 2014 5:54 pm. Looks very nice and symmetric. Constructive critics: Far too much for one belt lane. You see, that all furnaces are off and the inserters try to put things on the belts. That means furnaces internal stack is full.
